Maybe I'm too ambitious...
But, after seeing The Notorious Bettie Page today, I couldn't help but squeal over all of the outfits (aside from the corsetry and laces). It really pumped me up to want to sew my own clothes again. Well...after some thinking (very little, I might add), I was thinking maybe, just maybe, if I get good enough at sewing rockabilly shirts and pants, maybe I could sew them for kids, or bears (whichever is easiest) to sell them. The thought came to me as I was thinking of how to conserve money with sewing, but still being productive and learning the technique. The rockabilly kids thing does have an audience, and I'm sure I could get into it. It would be something fun to do once I got the hang of it. Just a thought.

Hi darling! I've traveled across many seas and many deserts to reach your blog.... okay, well, actually I'm from Craftster! This is "vagina star". I saw your blog link!
I also watched "The Notorious Bettie Page" a few days ago and bugged my guy to death (with the DVD remote). I kept hitting rewind just to see the dresses all over again, and then hitting pause so I could squeal, "HOLYCRAP! I love that!!!".
I'm in love with vintage/retro dress styles, the 1950's, and "rockabilly" clothes. But I just hate the price tags, I don't have enough money to throw down 50 bucks for a dress with cherries on it. I'm cheap too!
So I would love to see more people jumping in and making their own rockabilly-style clothes and/or patterns. I wish you the best of luck and I'll definitly be checking in! :) Let me know how it all goes. I'm not new to sewing, just new to making my own clothes. So it's exciting & inspiring watching other crafty gals do it!
Take care sweetie! xoxo! <3 Sorry for typing so much. I'm a talker.. ha!
